Choosing a color before a Color Flip round

Choose one labeled color before stepping through a calm Color Flip round.

Bottom line: Choose one labeled color before stepping through a calm Color Flip round.

Visual Color Flip is a tap-to-step tile puzzle, not a reflex game. At the beginning of a round, choose Green, Blue, Amber, or Rose. That choice stays in place while you decide which adjacent tile to step onto.

Open Color Flip to play, or read the Color Flip guide for the complete controls.

Pick a labeled color

The picker has four named buttons: G · Green, B · Blue, A · Amber, and R · Rose. The same letters work on the keyboard while the picker is open. After you choose, the player in the center of the 5×5 board shows both the color name and its letter.

There is no countdown. Pause and look over the highlighted adjacent tiles before taking a step.

Step one tile at a time

Use a pointer or touch to select an adjacent tile, or use an arrow key to choose its direction. A tile that matches your current color adds one point and reveals the next board position. A different color ends that round, so the useful choice is simply the matching labeled tile in the current direction.

Tiles that are not adjacent are unavailable. The labels on the board mean that neither color vision nor sound is required to make the choice.

Let rotation stay predictable

The Rotation button offers Never, Every 10, and Every 5. Never keeps the color you selected for the whole round. The other settings change it after the stated number of successful steps. The button label always states the active setting, and the player label shows the color to use for the next step.

Use Undo to take back the most recent step if you want to reconsider the path. It is there for exploration, not speed.
