Untimed puzzle games in the browser
Which NoCharge puzzles have no countdown, what untimed really changes, and the honest caveats about session length and difficulty.
Bottom line: NoCharge runs 16 of 17 games untimed by default or with an untimed mode. “Untimed” means no countdown; it does not mean easy or short. The untimed collection and the Discovery Wheel pressure filter both read the same catalog facts.
What untimed changes
- You can pause to reason; a wrong guess costs a move, not a second.
- The game ends by its rules — all pairs found, puzzle solved, board cleared — not by a clock.
- Elapsed time, where recorded at all, is a post-win metric (Minesweeper) or simply absent.
Games that are untimed
Nonogram, Beacon Lattice, Mini Sudoku 6×6, Sudoku 9×9, Word Search, Memory Match, Klondike, FreeCell, Twenty Forty-Eight, Tile Garden, Minesweeper, Hangman, Lights Out, Simon, and every Pass & Play title. Color Flip offers both visual (timed) and turn-based (untimed) modes. Word Tile Rush is the timed exception, stated plainly.
Honest caveats
- Untimed ≠ trivial: Nonogram and Beacon Lattice can be hard; Sudoku 9×9 runs 8–25 minutes at the top of its label.
- Untimed ≠ endless: every puzzle has an end condition.
- Session labels are estimates: the catalog reports ranges, not guarantees.
How to verify
Open any game, check the guide’s mode section, then use the Discovery Wheel with the pressure filter set to untimed. The registry facts page publishes the exact current percentage of untimed-or-both games and the review date.
